Privacy policy
This policy describes Glaze Kiln, the pottery glaze simulator at https://chilam1234.github.io/glaze-kiln-simulator/. It is operated by the owner of the GitHub account chilam1234. It was last updated on 1 October 2026.
What the app does
You paint glaze onto a pot in the browser and fire it to see a simulated result. Painting, firing, and the pictures stay on your device unless you choose to sign in and save.
If you do not sign in
The kiln does not create an account. The pot you are working on is not sent to a server. No Google account data is collected.
Google user data we access
Only if you choose “Google” on the sign-in screen. Glaze Kiln then receives these fields from Google, through Supabase Auth, and no others:
- Email address, to tell your saved pots apart from someone else’s.
- Name, to show who is signed in.
- Profile picture, if Google includes one. The kiln does not display it and does not store a separate copy.
- Google account id, so the same person can open their pots on a later visit.
The scopes are openid, email, and profile. Glaze Kiln does not request Gmail, Drive, Calendar, contacts, or any other Google product.
How that data is used
Each field is used only to run the account: recognize you, keep you signed in, and attach a saved pot to you. Glaze Kiln does not use Google user data for advertising, does not sell it, does not share it with data brokers, and does not use it to train models. Use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Where it is stored
Supabase, at zafdbndpldvpojozwekd.supabase.co, stores the sign-in record (email, name, and Google account id). This browser keeps a session copy, including the email address, in local storage under the key kiln-session so you stay signed in. Signing out deletes that local copy. The profile picture is not written into the pot record.
Pots you save
When you press Save, the pot recipe is stored in Supabase under your account. A recipe contains the shape, the glaze strokes, the cone, and whether the foot is waxed. It is private to your account. When you press Share, that one recipe becomes readable by anyone who has the link. Other pots stay private.
Who else handles the data
- Google, when you choose Google sign-in.
- Supabase, which stores the sign-in record and any pot you save. The project address is
zafdbndpldvpojozwekd.supabase.co. - GitHub Pages, which hosts this website.
Glaze Kiln does not pass your Google account data to anyone else.
How long it is kept
The browser session lasts until you sign out or the sign-in expires. A saved pot remains until it is removed from the Supabase project. You can disconnect Glaze Kiln from your Google account in your Google Account permissions.
